referencing Two Sevens Clash (The 30th Anniversary Edition), CD, Album, RM, Essential for any fan of Culture and their incredible debut LP. The 5 bonus tracks (dubs / versions / 12 inch mixes) are all classics with some great toasting from Weedy and I Roy.

One of the masterpieces of the roots era, no album better defines its time and place than Two Sevens Clash, which encompasses both the religious fervor of its day and the rich sounds of contemporary Jamaica. Avowed Rastafarians, Culture had formed in , and cut two singles before beginning work on their debut album with producers the Mighty Two (aka Joe Gibbs and Errol Thompson)/

Two Sevens Clash Culture. Just a few words about this 40th Anniversary release of the classic "Two Sevens Clash" album. This is one of the greatest albums ever released by a Jamaican vocal trio and one of the best albums ever released in the Jamaican reggae genre.

Jul 07,  · OK I haven't bought the new release of Two Sevens Clash, but I like owned the original Ja. LP and the earlier CD and will buy this one because it is like the finest reggae album except maybe Blackheart Man (Bunny) or East of the River Nile (Augustus Pablo)--except buyer beware since the song Two Sevens Clash foretells the ending of the world on 7/7/77 and in case you haven't noticed this did /5(18).

May 29,  · Among the other nine tracks on the album were I'm Not Ashamed, Black Starliner Must Come, See Them a Come and Natty Dread Taking Over. The Two Sevens Clash album was reissued on its 30th anniversary - 7/7/07, when three sevens clashed. There was, however, nothing like the pall of gloom and impending doom which accompanied the initial release.

Two Sevens Clash is the debut-album by Culture, recorded in at Joe Gibbs Recording Studio in Kingston, Jamaica and released on the Gibbs label in September of Even though Culture is a roots-reggae group, their sound was much lighter compared to their contemporaries. This album, also, contains many biblical references.
